ABOUT ME
PictureHere I am at my computer desk in our electrical contracting office doing my tasks as office manager for Bill's Quality Electric, LLC.
I'm Dawn Herring.

I work as Office Manager with my husband who is an electrical contractor for our company, Bill's Quality Electric, LLC. I do all the record keeping, phone work, and blogging as well as SEO & Social Media Marketing.

When I'm not in the office, I keep busy with home, family, art, creativity, journaling, watching movies and reading.

I also have a spiritual practice comprised of writing and singing songs I receive from Spirit as I study spiritual texts, pray, meditate and journal on truth I receive for myself.

I love playing my tambourine as I sing my personally written songs in my spiritual practice.

I write in my sketchbook journal each evening and create a word doodle with my new female cartoon featured with my wardrobe choice for the day!
PictureHere I am painting with watercolor in my art studio.

I like to do things that are what I describe as Sweet Spots: Painting with watercolor, doodling words and cartooning (new to me!) in my nightly journal entry, fashion, both wearing and illustrating (and illustrating fashion on my cartoons is the SWEETEST.)

I also keep a very uncomplicated Bullet Journal with lists and rapid logs for daily recording content that doesn't go in my sketchbook journal where I draw.

I love mixing and matching fashion in my wardrobe, I'm a jewelry fanatic and my favorite colors are vibrant hues of secondary nature such as orange red, turquoise, mustard, wine as well as black and white.

I appreciate friendships/relationships built on mutual respect, reciprocation and kindness.

I love chatting about creativity, journaling, music, and the bright spots that are my Sweet Spots and listening to others talk about theirs.

I'm not here out of obligation but simply to share what is Sweet for me right now. You are welcome to join me in conversation so we can make life sweet in community.

I will share an occasional blog post or video about what I'm up to, so you're welcome to connect if you're interested in knowing.

The most direct route to communication is my email at refreshwithdawnherring@gmail.com
I'm not especially active on social media since I'm very busy in the office, but if you'd like to connect with me there, you're welcome too.

RANDOM FACTS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME

I'm 5 feet tall.
I attended Morris County Vocational School for Commercial Art.
I prefer watercolor paint over acrylic due to its transparency and ability to be lifted once down on paper unless it's highly staining.
I started drawing at a very young age and enjoyed illustrating fashion and doing portraiture for many years.
I'm mom to two grown daughters.
I'm grandma to one special needs grandson.
I've had two cats in my lifetime and hope to have another some day.
I grew up with cats my mother owned and it was such a thrill to get my very own once I was married 31 years ago.
I wear a size 5 shoe; so I am thankful for a company I buy shoes from who actually carry my size and makes shoes that work well for me.
I love vibrant color and the spiral as a motif. Design fascinates me and I love creating detail and texture with markers, pens and watercolor paint.
I have my very own microphone (and speaker) and I love using it to sing the songs I write and have fun with karaoke too.
